Citation
A citation is a source that an engine links or names when it answers a prompt.

Parts of citation data
- Cited domains: the sites an engine relied on for a prompt.
- Source mix: how the citations break down by type of source.
- Citation insights: after a page is published, the CMS widget shows the mentions and citations for its URL, by engine.
Where you see it
The Retrieval tab in AI Visibility, and the citation insights panel in the CMS widget.
Set it up
- Open Insight, then AI Visibility, and choose Portfolio, Per-LLM or Audited URLs.
- For a published page, open the CMS widget citation insights once the page is live.
- Use the cited domains to decide which sources to pursue in content recommendations.
